**DESCRIPTION** : SunPower Corporation is seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails developer to enhance and maintain a sales tool for the Distributed Generation Residential work-stream. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Digital Software Development.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following (other duties may be assigned):
+ Responsible for the development of Sales application to enable a world class Residential software suite of tools.
+ Design and architect a solution based Ruby on Rails, Heroku and other custom applications to meet end to end process requirements to support a globalized residential delivery process.
+ Partner with the product management team and peers to define application roadmap to ensure a scalable and effective residential application infrastructure
+ Conduct technology / solution evaluation and recommend appropriate solution to support residential delivery business need
+ Advise business stakeholders and product management on business process improvement and reengineering opportunities.
+ Work with product owners to ensure that relevant information systems serve the business needs effectively.
+ Project leadership through all phases of the project lifecycle, including: Analysis, Requirements Definition, Design, Build & Test, Conversion, Deployment for residential delivery functionality
**RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
**Minimum requirements -**
+ Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience
+ Advanced Degree preferred
+ OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
+ Experience in using efficient methodologies (e.g. Agile Extreme programing, test driven development) and continuous deployment tools (e.g. Git/Jenkins/SourceTree/BitBucket/etc.)
+ Understanding of object-oriented concepts, abstraction/inheritance, as well as experience with object-oriented languages.
+ HTML5/CSS experience, ability to work with and write custom css framework expansions is a plus.
+ Must be a creative thinker and can recognize and solve problems by thinking outside the box.
+ Ability to discuss and debate all options to achieve the optimal solution.
+ Advanced knowledge and practical experience with application design principles, patterns, and practice
+ Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Fun to work with and sense of humor appreciated.
+ 2 - 4 years of professional experience writing Ruby. You know the difference between Ruby and Rails without thinking about it. You use gems when appropriate, but aren't afraid to dive into their source when necessary.
+ Experience with React and Redux.
+ Familiarity with building and using REST APIs
+ Experience and/or interest in Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies
+ Experience with Heroku and Heroku Connect.
+ Comfortable with the UNIX/Linux command line.
+ Excellent organizational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
+ Good people management skills, including recruiting, mentoring, and career development.
+ Deep expertise and successful working experience with software providers covering all phases of the systems development lifecycle
+ Hands on experience with all aspects of the project lifecycle, including detailed deliverable development as well as team management at all levels.
+ Strong analytical capabilities (market, financial, operations)
