Job Title: Sr. Ruby/Python Developer Location: Livonia, MI Duration: 12 Months Contract Job Overview: We are looking for a full stack, senior-level engineer, with experience in Ruby, Python and Java, to be based out of our Livonia, MI, location to help us as we evaluate a client's core web properties to ensure security, scalability and future cloud migration. SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to quickly and effectively perform environment discovery. Solid hands-on experience and an ability to coach client staff. Interpersonal skills to quickly establish rapport and work effectively with the client team. Provide technical guidance and support to client IT resources to stabilize a web application environment. Upgrade the underlying technical stack to supported/modern versions and take appropriate measures to ensure future stability/supportability. Make recommendations and high level cost/schedule for a proposal to migrate the environment to could services (likely Azure). SKILLS AND EXPERICENCE REQUIRED: Passionate coder with 3 years of application development experience. Proficiency with Java. Proficiency with JavaScript, Ruby, Python, PHP. Proficiency programming for or against databases - either SQL or MYSQL. Proficiency in Git and source control in a team environment. Excellent grasp of good software design patterns and practices: OOD, KISS, SOLID design, DRY, test driven development, code reviews, etc. Competent understanding of automated processes including continuous integration and continuous deployment. Experience with cloud technologies a plus. Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major. Strong consulting and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with various organizations in pursuit of problem solutions. Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud technologies a plus.
