Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer responsible for delivering integrated and deployed support across Enterprise Networks. The need for you, doing what you do, in this role, is as significant as the mission and the customer! The aim is to provide the customer flexible, but coordinated, Application Development, System Security, System Engineering, End User Support, and other services across its various departments.

Citizenship requirement: must be a US Citizen (will need to obtain a Federal Public Trust)

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
• Integration of data storage solutions {{may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.}}
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
• Supporting the customer
• Trusted to understand the technical and functional design requirements related to Ruby on Rails
• Designing, developing, and testing mission applications
• Designing and developing new web applications
• Maintaining and troubleshooting existing web applications
• Creating back-end components
• Connecting applications with additional web servers
• Maintaining APIs
• Devise and execute versioning and upgrading strategy
• Understand and translate business use cases and user stories into solutions in Ruby code
• Display the leadership traits expected of a senior developer to mid and jr developers looking for examples of development tempo and initiative

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque
• Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Good understanding of server-side templating languages {{such as Liquid, Slim, etc depending on your technology stack}}
• Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors {{such as Sass, based on project requirements}}
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
• A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{e.g. Git, Mercurial or SVN}}
• Familiarity with development aiding tools {{such as Bower, Bundler, Rake, etc}}
• Familiarity with continuous integration

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or a technical discipline related to the specific skill, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
• Minimum of 5 years related experience

• Experience working with ruby on rails as well as libraries like Resque and RSpec
• Ability to write clean ruby code
• Proficiency with code versioning tools including Git, Github, SVN, and Mercurial
• Experience with AngularJS or BackboneJS
• Familiarity with MVC, Mocking, RESTful, and ORM
• Good understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3
• Knowledge of server-side templating languages including Slim and Liquid
• Familiarity with testing tools
• Exhibited proficiency in CSS, HTML, JQuery, Ajax, JSON
• Experience with database management (MySQL)
• Experience with open-source libraries (Angular, Bootstrap)
• Experience with design, development, and test of integrated mission applications, RESTful web services, and external libraries in multiple languages to interface with APIs
• Knowledge of the agile methodologies
• Experience with Ruby, JavaScript, and Angular Test, and AWS
