Description
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the Front End elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of Front End technologies is necessary as well.
Primary Responsibilities:

Serves as a technical lead on large, complex projects.Serves as a technical lead on large, complex projects.Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby codeIntegration of data storage solutions like data lakes and Legacy oracle data basesIntegration of user-facing elements developed by Front End developers with server side logicIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problemsHelp maintain code quality, organization and automationAnalyze (though proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needsSupport the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practicesUse industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scriptingDocument and Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leverage GitFlow constructsCommunicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activitiesApply and identify best practices and standard operating proceduresCreate innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.Mentors and coaches technical staff.Basic Qualifications:
Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and ResqueGood understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuancesSolid understanding of object-oriented programmingGood understanding of server-side templating languagesGood understanding of server-side CSS preprocessorsBasic understanding of Front End technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTfulA knack for writing clean, readable Ruby codeAbility to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one systemUnderstanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable applicationAble to create database schemas that represent and support business processesAble to implement automated testing platforms and unit testsProficient understanding of code versioning toolsFamiliarity with development aiding toolsFamiliarity with continuous integrationCandidate must have Bachelors with 22+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 15 - 20 years of prior relevant experience.
