THE TEAM:

We are a high functioning Agile Development team, working across two locations, Boulder CO and our headquarters in Calabasas CA. Our roadmap is packed with new and exciting initiatives. The pace is fast, while still keeping great emphasis on fun & collaboration.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a Senior level full stack engineer position based in Calabasas, CA (Boulder, CO also considered). The person will be joining a growing team of 6 people and working on a communication and digital fundraising platform. The RoR Developer will be primarily developing new features and applications for our core platform, as well as many third party integrations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Architect, Design and Develop custom solutions and applications in Ruby on Rails, but comfortable with the full stack
  • Architect solutions to maximize scalability, performance and security
  • Develop highly optimized database applications based in SQL, Oracle or MySQL
  • Regular use of bug tracking and version control software
  • Follow our TDD principles, creating tests for all major code (RSPEC, Capybara, Jasmine, etc.)
  • Act as a leader, identifying and proactively taking on initiatives in a growing and changing environment

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist DevOps / data center with any troubleshooting of any service disruptions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

Work Experience: 5-10 years as a Full Stack Engineer and 2-3 years of professional Ruby on Rails experience, preferred

Skills:

  • Hands on experience as a Senior developer
  • Understanding of Object-oriented programming (OOP) design and principles
  • Expertise with MVC frameworks / architecture such as Rails and Spring
  • Comfortable working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough attention to detail, quality and precision
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a natural willingness to get the job done
