KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a hybrid backend (ruby or node.js) AWS DevOps go-to resource.

The situation is this:

Our client is a well-funded private company backed by top-tier venture capital firms known for their successes in the medical technology industry. We are actively hiring in all departments, but especially in engineering, to support a nationwide rollout with a Fortune 25 company along with several other large enterprise accounts.

They already have fully operational products/ apps (and enterprise clients)- but are in the process of moving away from their 3rd party development shop and bringing it in-house. As a result, they need a lead level DevOps engineer to own all things cloud/ deployment (in tandem with the CA based dev agency)- and you'll also have the chance of building out more of a team as they grow!

We are looking for an expert backend engineer/ DevOps resource that has built and shipped apps for the web and/or mobile, and if you have Ruby experience- then even better. You will be working with our team of engineers and develop high-quality apps. The ultimate goal will be to create next level and modern apps for our company. Because of the nature of our enterprise accounts, an ideal candidate would have experience with information security and dev ops (ie. devsecops). Although these skills do not presently warrant full-time work, our rapid pace of growth make these skills highly desirable. Finally, and most importantly, we are looking to hire product-minded engineers. Culturally, we have strong roots in engineering - we recognize and appreciate engineers that care about solving real user problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the requirements and propose best possible solutions.
• Develop APIs for app functionality and better user performance.
• Follow standard coding practices when writing code.
• Provide support during the entire application development process.
• Troubleshoot and debug apps before handing it over to testers for better performance.
• Research and propose new apps and products.
• Update the apps according to latest technology trends.
• Plan, develop, and test infrastructure changes that scale.
• Develop automated deployments of applications.
• Implement the organization's infrastructure security protocols.
• Look for vulnerabilities and monitor for security attacks.

Requirements

• Proven experience of working as a Back-End Developer in your past [or current] life.
• Proficient in programming languages, frameworks, and technologies similar to React, Node, Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, AWS, etc.
• Collaborate with the team to constantly innovate the design and functionality of apps.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent managerial skills and strong work ethics.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be authorized to legally work in the U.S. (we do not currently sponsor employment visas).
