Fully remote or in NYC. Excellent opportunity.

As a Senior Backend Engineer on our Consumer Team, you will be responsible for building features to excite and delight our customers as they navigate through the country's best eats. You will be working on projects that help consumers discover and experience iconic foods in every category. You will help take our site to the next level as we strive to achieve an E-commerce 2.0 experience and pioneering an online food ordering experience, where your food options are not limited by your zip code.

Responsibilities

• • Develop scalable software systems that power the consumer experience
  • Improve system design and architecture to ensure high performance and stability of the services
  • Write automated tests to keep our test coverage high (93% !)
  • Work with multiple cross-functional teams in a rapid product development environment

• • Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 5+ years working experience in software/web development
  • Experience building backend services for client-facing tools
  • Proficiency with at least one general-purpose language like Ruby, Python, Java, C#, etc. (day to day work will be in Ruby)
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Good team communication and collaboration skills
  • Solutions oriented attitude and a willingness to take ownership
