Overview
KeyLogic is currently searching for an Application Programmer to support one of our Department of Energy contracts at a major national laboratory in the Albuquerque, NM area.
Currently, this position is onsite in Albuquerque. The selected candidate must be able to reliably commute or be open to relocating to the Albuquerque area. If offered the position, a government background investigation would be required for a security clearance. Since this position falls under the Department of Energy, the clearance does require exclusive US Citizenship (i.e., no dual citizenship).
Responsibilities
As an Application Engineer you will work with a team developing and/or maintaining web-based applications using tools such as Ruby on Rails or Java. You will analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities; translate detailed design into application systems; test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product; prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality; and provide technical direction to engineers to ensure program deadlines are met.
Qualifications
To accomplish this, you will need six years' experience in Linux environments, relational database, experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Data Structures, and Algorithms. And finally, knowledge of, and desire to follow IT Operations best practices and procedures such as issue management and incident response.
