Overview :
The Squires Group, Inc. has a contract opportunity for a Mid-Level Ruby and JavaScript Developer to join a team building the next generation of customer engagement systems. This Federal project is located in Rosslyn, VA (although work will be REMOTE until COVID restrictions are lifted, we are seeking local candidates only.) As a Ruby on Rails and JavaScript Developer, you will be supporting the ongoing web application development effort by using continuous integration environment, with automated continuous deployments to the public cloud-hosting environment.Per our Federal Government contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, eligible to pass the clients background requirements.

Responsibilities :
Work with product owners and colleagues to interpret feature requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test cycles using an Agile development process for a responsive web applicationDraw on components from the projects open-source framework, use JavaScript, React.JS, RESTful web services, and Ruby on Rails to design, build and test software components for citizens and employeesCheck code into the continuous integration pipeline based on Jenkins to incrementally build the overall system and get immediate feedback on build performanceDevelop and expand unit and integration tests which will be automatically run by the build pipeline for developer feedback using JUnit and other tools like Cucumber, JMeter, and Selenium

Qualifications :
5+ years of experience with web application development1+ year of experience with Ruby on Rails (3+ years preferred)3+ years of experience of JavaScript (e.g., React.js)3+ years of experience with HTML3+ years of experience with Java2+ years of experience in using and managing change management tools, Git, Subversion, TortoiseSVN, and build server software (Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo)Per our Federal Government contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, eligible to pass the clients background requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience with the following technologies:CSS/SASSAutomated TestingAmazon Web Services IntegrationExperience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phasesWorking experience with code quality inspection tools (e.g., Sonar)Working experience with monitoring systems, continuous integration systems, middleware & database components with ChefWorking knowledge of TDD and automation test scripts
