Placewise is hiring a Rails Application Developer with experience working with JavaScript, React, and Tailwind, to help rebuild our legacy platform from the ground up. You will work with a small cross-functional team to design and develop a headless CMS and website platform that will power retail real estate across the world. 

About the Role

Over the last 20 years, Placewise has been the leader in digital services to the shopping center industry. With over 1000 shopping centers in our client base, we are a global presence, providing everything from content management to fully hosted websites and mobile apps.

Our mission is to enable the future of retail real estate by designing, building and managing digital touchpoints, aggregating and analyzing consumer data, providing digital operations and tenant engagement tools and ecommerce solutions.

Our goal is to rebuild our current platform as well as integrate additional platforms and continue to evolve our product as the industry changes. This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of a global industry.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional full-stack web development experience, a background in JavaScript and Ruby, experience with React and Rails, preferably building a SaaS product, deploying production code and managing feature development.

Candidate must live in the Greater Denver Area

What We Are Looking For:

A Rails developer with React experience

MUST have at least 3+ years of developer work experience

Technical Skills

  • Ruby on Rails


  • Graphql

  • Postgres

  • RSpec/Minitest

  • React

  • TailwindCSS

  • Gatsby

Things that will set you apart from the pack

  • Proficiency with TypeScript

  • Expert Postgres Knowledge

  • Experience setting up a CI/CD pipeline

  • Proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes

  • Experience building Event buses/Queuing Systems

  • Experience with Distributed Systems

  • Experience working with JSONSchema

  • Experience working on a Saas Platform or CMS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience interfacing with various front-end and back-end technologies, frameworks, and services

  • The ability to master new technologies, frameworks, and tools while also sharing their learnings and experience with the development team

  • Be an advocate for best practices, assist with code reviews, offer technical direction and creative solutions (a background in design is a plus!)

  • Comfortable with dynamic constraints, interacting with and handling feedback from non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to take technical concepts and explain them to non-technical people

  • Produce results independently as well as collaboratively

  • Ability to smoothly shift mental gears from concepts to detailed execution

  • Scrum/Agile development experience

  • Contribute in the product process: thinking through UX, designing UI, and working with customers to solve their problems
