We're a start-up in conversational AI, looking for an experienced Rails developer to join us on our journey (ideally with a heart for UI design).

We are Mercury.ai, a maturing deep-tech startup with one of the strongest products in dialogue automation. Our customers are large brands that rely on our conversational AI platform to create, train, manage and maintain chatbots, voice skills and AI assistants.

On our journey to grow, we are looking for an experienced full-stack developer. You will maintain and further develop our page-based Ruby on Rails + Vue.js web application, which serves as the user interface for our conversational AI platform and communicates with it through an internal API.

Tech stack:

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Vue.js
  • Coffeescript
  • SASS
  • hosted on AWS Elastic Beanstalk

Our team works with Bitbucket and Jira, and most internal communication happens via Slack.

During the first months, you will fill in for our current developer during his paternity leave; afterwards you two will work together and you can find your sweet spot in our ecosystem.

We work in an environment that is fast-paced, communicative and creative. No politics, no hierarchies, no bullshit. We take responsibility for our work and love fast decisions, freedom to shape our product, and room to grow.

We are also strongly committed to promoting equal opportunity and diversity in our team.

If this sounds exciting and if you:

  • are experienced with Ruby on Rails and Vue.js (or a similar frontend framework)
  • work independently, with a hands-on mentality
  • have a strong sense of ownership
  • and ideally also have a knack for UI design

Then we'd love to talk to you!

We are based in Bielefeld (Germany) and our current developer in this role works remotely from Leipzig (Germany). Both are excellent places to be. 🙂 As is your remote work place.
