Steve is a developer, tech entrepreneur and recruiter. His broad background as a programmer ranges from embedded control systems for mobile robots, a client-server research management application, to authoring and selling a patented technology for managing a wireless network community.
For over ten years, he has focused on web application development and has recruited over thirty developers for his and client projects. Based off that experience, he also founded a tech recruitment firm Elm Talent that works with leading companies in the finance and tech space in New York, London and the Middle East. In 2013, he took over RubyNow a ruby jobs board to improve the process of connecting developers and companies, and is consulting with clients to help them better understand how to attract the tech talent they seek.
A native of England, he holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Durham University (U.K.) and spent two years as a post-doctoral research fellow at Yale University. His interest in cognitive neuroscience continues and he maintains a research associate position with the Electrical Engineering department at Yale University.
