Rackspace Hosting is seeking a Ruby on Rails Developer to join our Network Security team. You would be part of a fast paced, cutting edge development team responsible for the future of our world class mission critical systems. This is new development work focusing on designing network security tools. If you are you up for the challenge then this could be a good opportunity for you.

Required Skills:

Stuff you'll need to be a star:

* Solid experience developing web applications (7+ years)

* Strong Ruby on Rails development experience (3+ years)

* A focus on quality and testing

* A commitment to iterative development with frequent releases

* You should know your way around a relational database and have some experience with MySQL

* Experience deploying applications to Ubuntu or Red Hat Linux

* Enough HTML and CSS that you can build sites people enjoy using

* Enough Javascript skills to do simple AJAX

* Driven to be part of the team creating the next great software solutions for Rackspace

Bonus points will be given for:

* Experience working with Cisco firewalls or load balancers

* Experience with a "NoSQL" database such as MongoDB

* Knowledge of functional programming and use of a functional language like Erlang

* Knowing what "unobtrusive Javascript" means and having used jQuery with Rails

* Being able to speak knowledgeably about: Nginx, Passenger, Ruby 1.9, Rails 3, Rspec and Cucumber
