Senior Software Developer (Ruby)

wooga is a Berlin-based startup that creates innovative social games on networks like Facebook and VZnet.

You will join our IT team, implementing and maintaining a high performance and reliable server infrastructure that will be able to serve several successful games at once. All our hardware is cloud based.

We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys building high quality products used by millions. You are not a programming language evangelist, even though you do have strong opinion what makes a good language, you use what it takes to get the job done. A good product sense, an understanding of the web 2.0 ecosystem, strong personal initiative and a “getting things done” mentality are essential.

* Very Good understanding of systems engineering, scalability, and algorithms
* Database knowledge, preferably with relational and non-relational databases
* Experience implementing APIs, preferably REST a plus
* Computer Science degree or equivalent experience

* Knowledge of flash AS3 or Linux administration a plus
* Experience implementing browser based multiplayer games a plus
* Knowledge of the Facebook API a plus
