| Description: | Skilled in Ruby on Rails? Interested in cutting-edge work on collective intelligence? Want to make a difference in corporate behavior? Our all-volunteer team of seven professionals is launching Citizens Market, an exciting nonprofit with a mission to empower consumers with tools to shop their values. We’re designing a crowdsourced website where information about corporate behavior is organized into scores that consumers can see while they shop. The scores are generated by users who rate companies on a number of social or environmental issues. We’re looking for a volunteer web developer with experience in view-layer coding in Ruby on Rails to join our team, collaborate on strategy and help us launch our beta web application. We’re based in Boston, Massachusetts with a preference for local candidates, though we welcome applications from remote candidates. The time commitment and schedule is flexible; we usually ask for a minimum of five hours per week for at least one year. Please see full description of the volunteer position below.
