Ruby on Rails eCommerce Developer Required Newcastle (UK)

Net Stores has a Ruby on Rails web developer vacancy available in our eCommerce development team. Specialising in Ruby on Rails (and related technologies) and with the Spree eCommerce platform, you will be involved in launching new stores, fixing bugs and general site maintenance.
Ideally you would have recent and relevant Ruby on Rails experience; however, knowledge of another dynamic language would suffice along with a “can do” attitude and a passion for clean and well structured code. This is a chance to make a big difference at a crucial and challenging stage in our growth, making the right candidate a big part of Net Stores expansion plans.

• Experience and passion about open source technologies; Ruby on Rails, Linux, JavaScript (jQuery)
• First-name terms with best programming practices - OO, Git, version control, automated testing etc
• Great team-working ability; expect to work with both technical experts and other e-commerce specialists
• Excellent debugging skills
• A commitment to getting better at what you do (and we'll provide any help we can)
• Fluent English

• Perl or PHP experience
• Experience of e-commerce development
• Knowledge of W3C standards and a understanding of the premise of semantic markup
• Linux system admin skills
• Excellent SQL skills and/or MySQL administration skills
