Headquartered in New York, BookMesh is a city-specific online book community that connects & engages book readers with their surrounding city's book culture very easily, comprising other readers, local authors, local book stores, local book events, local book clubs, local book news, and so on. Our goal is to create the largest network of city-specific online book communities across the United States, revolutionizing the social interaction of a city's book culture with it's constituents, with operations to be focused in New York, Boston, Philly, Washington D.C, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Diego. We are currently a small team of 3 in Manhattan.
*Role*
We're seeking a proficient Ruby on Rails developer from the New York area to join our early team and help take us to the next level.
Up to now, we have outsourced all site development to freelance programmers in order to conserve our precious start-up cash. After speaking with interested investors, it's clear that the time has come for us to begin our search for our first technical team member, to help with the upcoming growth & launch of the business, to take us to the next level. Now is the perfect time for the right developer interested in helping to transform the way the book industry socializes & interacts to join us.
*Current Status*
Our prototype platform is complete with approx. 2000 private testers utilizing it, driving feature development, along with a current iPhone app development project in the works (first of its kind). There is significant industry interest in us, from industry partnerships to strategic investments from both top book entities and investment firms. We've just secured the VP of Scholastic Publishing as a top advisor to our team.
