Senior RoR and iPhone Engineer (Obj-C, RoR, PHP)

We’re an agile, innovative, and fast-paced small interactive agency and we’re looking for a talented mid-level or senior developer to flesh out our development team at the start of the New Year.

Our immediate need is for someone to take point on the mobile component of an exciting project that integrates the full capabilities of the iPhone with an interactive website (written in Ruby on Rails) in a lucrative and fun-based industry. But we’re looking for brains and the ability to Get Things Done more than any specific experience.

Position duties in a nutshell:

* Work together in a team environment to create a quality product from top to bottom
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and upgrade iPhone applications and custom web applications
* All the miscellany that normally go with the above

* Gets things done

* BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of building secure and scalable web applications
* Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript (JQuery, MooTools, Prototype/Scriptaculous), Objective C, Ruby, Rails, PHP, SQL, Linux, MySQL, Apache, Nginx
* Ruby on Rails and iPhone full lifecycle experience
* Understanding of OO programming techniques
* Understanding of the MVC paradigm in thick apps and web apps
* Knowledge of and experience with multiple MVC frameworks and ORM libraries
* Good understanding of web application security (how to counter XSS, CSRF, and SQL-Injection)
* Belief in the benefit of and practical experience with test driven development
* Pragmatic and solution oriented
* Strong working knowledge of relational databases and transactions
* Experience profiling and optimizing web applications
* Belief in adhering to a software development process (preferably agile and lightweight)
* Strong analytical abilities
* Strong teamwork skills, practical business sense and a passion for delivering cool and innovative products
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
