We have a terrific growth opportunity for a Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer in NYC area.

Our client is in the digital music business. Two weeks ago, in the midst of all the financial turmoil, they successfully raised their 2nd growth round of funding. Company subscribes to the notion that great programmers are 100 times more productive then average programmers. They are looking for top-quality, expert programmers with good design sense and the desire to get things done. The product is a consumer-facing web 2.0 web app that is currently generating a lot of buzz. The team is high-caliber and believes strongly in keeping up to speed with latest open source tools. Having said that, they are being extremely selective in their search. There is plenty of upside and room to grow in the position, and the company is willing to offer top salary + stocks for the right candidate.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Be involved in all areas of the online experience, from front-end (CSS, HTML, AJAX, Flash, etc.), to the application layer (Ruby on Rails), to the database (MySQL). * Build cutting-edge features using the latest Web 2.x technologies. * Add scale and robustness as we continue to grow

* Experience with developing a high-volume, B2C website, using RoR * Excited to work in a start-up. * Great at SQL and designing efficient data models. * Excellent OOP background * Solid experience with standard web languages/protocols (HTML / HTTP / AJAX / CSS / REST). * You thrive in chaos * Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

* Hands-on experience with at least one Ruby on Rails deployment, and knowledge of Rails-related tools and practices. * Experience in designing, building, and growing large server farms.
