We need a few premier hackers to help define the next evolution of our highly scalable, distributed and robust call processing and web infrastructure. We need hackers with prior experience with some combination of the following: C, C++, Python, Perl, Ruby, RoR and SQL.

What we are NOT looking for:

We are not looking for someone who wants to work in an environment with very formal development paradigms and the expensive tool suites that come along with these paradigms. (You can take the gang of four design pattern book back to the bookstore and use the money to buy a movie ticket).

We are not looking for someone who bought 3 new suits in preparation for job interviews.

Implement and deploy Vonage's web infrastructure consisting of both customer facing and internal assets including our secure web site, subscribe site, and future development. A significant portion of the position is designing, writing and/or maintaining various Ruby, and PHP programs, as well as Perl and shell scripts.

Requirements for the Position

Technical skills

o Committer to an open source project

o Experience with some combination of the following: C, C++, Python, Perl, Ruby, RoR and SQL.

o Experience in network programming and multithreading

o Some Database programming/administration experience
including generic SQL and ORACLE/MySQL specifically
