Rails Developer

The Applications Strategy organization is focused on driving the direction of our application portfolio. This includes the Applications Unlimited product areas such as Siebel, PeopleSoft, etc as well as Fusion.
This role is specifically on the AppsLab team in Applications Strategy. This team is very focused on emerging technologies and their application to our business.

This position is for a senior developer who has a passion for Web 2.0 technologies. If you know ROR, have your photos on flickr, post links on del.i.cious, and have played around with basecamp you are living in our world. This role is focused on building out demos and prototypes to help the strategy team not only understand, but live and breathe Web 2.0. Obviously knowledge of java and enterprise systems is a must, but be ready to work hard and have fun trying to change the world from the inside.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Preferred Qualifications: BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
