TroopSwap is seeking a sharp, pragmatic problem solver with the desire to make inefficient code run for cover. The target must be experienced in creating software for the web in an agile environment. We use technologies like Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Git, Postgres, HAML, SASS, Backbone.js and jQuery. If you are comfortable working with these tools or have a background that will help you pick them up quickly, we'd like to talk to you.
TroopSwap's underlying philosophy is simple: a life of military service should have its perks! We are proud to exclusively serve veterans, service members and their immediate family members. Our goal is to take military appreciation to a new level by building the first exclusively military ecommerce platform. We provide much needed employment opportunities for military spouses in our local markets while donating 10% of our profits to the Wounded Warrior Project. The merchants featured on our platform have partnered with us to offer deals not available to the general public. Every aspect of our operations and business model is designed to create value for the military community.
TroopSwap is founded by two Army Ranger veterans and Harvard Business School grads and has been funded by a prominent group of Angels with both technical and military backgrounds - we know a thing or two about the military community, as well as how the technology industry operates. The product and engineering team spans the industry with deep experience in architecture, design, engineering and operations with over 35 years industry experience in total.
We're a small, close-knit team working on cool things to delight the underserved military population. If you think you have what it takes to join Team Awesome, send us a note at awesome@troopswap.com.
*** No agencies or third party consultants please. Violations will result in two former Army Rangers showing up at your doorstep. We're not kidding. ***
