The Position
Site5 is seeking a mid-level Ruby on Rails developer. The chosen candidate will be working from home with a small group of top-notch, highly knowledgable developers who are passionate about their coding. You will be working on writing a group of related Rails 3.2 applications which are currently being developed from scratch, in-house. The applications will replace our CRM & billing system, Synco, and our client account manager, Backstage. You can read more about them at http://www.eng5.com
Our ideal candidate is pragmatic, quick thinking, and a great problem solver. You should not be afraid when google returns 0 results for the answer you're looking for. Below is a list of requirements needed for this position as well as some additional skills that would be desirable.
Skill Requirements- Ruby and object-oriented programming (2+ years)
- Rails (2+ years)
- Rails database migrations
- Testing (Rspec, Shoulda, Test::Unit etc…)
- MySQL (including database design and performance tuning)
- Prototype or jQuery
- API integration experience
- Modern HTML & CSS skills
- Comfortable working with Git
- Able to view solutions from a customer perspective

- cPanel API experience
- SOAP
- Sinatra
- Rack
- Active::Merchant
- Gem Authoring
- SCSS
- CoffeeScript
- Involved in open source projects
